Van Stadens Wind Farm is a clean renewable wind energy project which is good for South Africa, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and very good for the local community.
Once operational the turbines will have 27MW generation capacity and will supply 80 000 MWh power per annual. It will supply 5000 - 6000 households with electricity.
In the construction phase it created 120 job opportunities and once completed will have nine full time staff on site.
Some environmental benefits are that will not need any water to generate electricity and this project is in line with SA Government commitment to carbon emission reduction.
The Van Stadens Wind Farm project is a positive way forward for the Metro, Eastern Cape South Africa and the Earth.
