Really? Not this time, slick! But maybe later!
One of the coolest things about geocaching are the trackables, whether they are your personal items launched on an adventure or travelers you find along the trails. It is fun creating cool missions or helping others along their way. They vary so much in type (and size!). We still ooh and ahh every time we open a cache container and find a trackable. We have taken German figures to beer gardens, fireman figures to our local firehouse, and others to sporting events... of course documenting everything in their photo galleries. How about you? Be sure to include any special TB stories in your log. Do you have any special trackables? Although the container may not be big enough to hold trackables, feel free to pass through any special travelers that you own.
One of our favorite stories relates to a trip we took to Argentina. We thought it would be so cool to add 5000 miles to some TBs travels! When we returned home, we realized we had made a terrible mistake. We had a TB that wanted to go to New Hampshire (it was a key to a birthday present that couldn't be opened until the key arrived). Well wouldn't you know it but we, um, dropped it into one of the caches in Buenos Aires! Yikes! We received an email from the husband (the gift giver) who thought it was hysterical but warned us that his wife was likely to send us an angry message... sure enough, a day later we received an email from her asking if we had made a clerical mistake or had we really taken her "key" 5000 miles in the wrong direction? Needless to say we felt awful. We told her that we had met the owner of the cache in Argentina and could ask him to send it back to us... Or directly to her if she wanted... Hearing nothing, we let it continue on its "detoured" mission. One of these days we need to check on it... So far we haven't had the, um, bravery! LOL. Actually, the Argentina trip had a separate notable TB story. We found a TB there whose goal was to get to Erie, PA! What a coincidence that after traveling over 26,000 miles, it would be found in South America by someone from Pittsburgh!
All you have to do to find the coordinates make the find, and sign the log. Remember you are in a residential neighborhood so please exercise stealth. The cache is NOT on private property and can be found between the sidewalk and the street. BYOP
BE SURE TO COLLECT THE INFO NEEDED TO FIND THE SHiP-SHAPE FINAL!
Congrats to CheckerMan for FTF!
