Geocache Description:

Glenade Lough is a naturally occurring eutrophic lake. It is situated close to Manorhamilton, between the Arroo and Benbulben Mountain ranges. The purpose of this cache is simply to share with you a lovely perspective of the Lough. There are a few legends around this area an this lake, particularly the one of the otter-like creature known as Dobarchú, which was allegedly responsible for the death of a local lady called Grace Connolly. a gravestone depicting the Dobarchú can be seen in Conwall Graveyard, glenade and more information on the legend can be found on an information post at the pier mentioned below.

There is space beside the cache for a car or two to park and have a picnic. If you continue around the shore, towards the south of this lake you will find a lovely little pier and parking and picnic area beside.

The cache may need a strong had to remove it from its' hiding place, but is acquirable without any tools. It is too small for trade or trackable items and bring your own pen. Please take extra care to replace the cache exactly as you found it so it can live on through the ages!!!

I have rated this cache as relatively difficult as I believe the cache itself may be a little hard to find but the terrain is easy being so close to the road. To keep the difficulty rating up, please do not post pictures of the actual cache, but please do post pics of yourself and anything else in the vacinity!!

We hope you enjoy this view and maybe you have time to look for some of our other caches in the area!
