Geocache Description:

Ēmítuófó point. A recluse monk lives on this point and can often be seen. Many locals come to him for traditional healing and blessings.

Amitābha (Sanskrit: अमिताभ, Amitābha (wordstem), Sanskrit pronunciation: [əmɪˈt̪aːbʱə]) is a celestial buddha described in the scriptures of the Mahāyāna school of Buddhism. Amitābha is the principal buddha in the Pure Land sect, a branch of Buddhism practiced mainly in East Asia, while in Vajrayana Amitābha is known for his longevity attribute and the aggregate of distinguishing (recognition) and the deep awareness of individualities. According to these scriptures, Amitābha possesses infinite merits resulting from good deeds over countless past lives as abodhisattva named Dharmakāra. "Amitābha" is translatable as "Infinite Light," hence Amitābha is often called "The Buddha of Infinite Light.

Walk down to the pergoda and then keep walking on a slight track to the right.  You will come past the monks hut.  Stop in for a blessing, fortune, or a cup of tea with this enlightened monk, if he's home.

Keep going past the monks hut, till you see the Ēmítuófó rock. Take the trail to the left and continue to the point.  This whole area is sometimes used for candle and incense burning by locals, so take care not to disturb the monuments and incense piles that are carved into the rocks he.

You can continue down the point to seculed beqch that is seldome accessed or visited by people. A lovely remote place to stop for a while or have a picnic on the beach. Don't forget to take your trash with you.

There is a CITO container with the cache so please take a bag with you for the rest of your caching trip and help keep our caches clean.

Please log all DNF's.
