Geocache Description:

A walk looking for ghostly traces in NE Bath. Trainee Ghostbusters should prepare well in advance, practising all known methods of detecting ghostly presences and determining the best vantage points from which to observe them. There are hills involved. You may conveniently park anyhwhere in the vicinity of the posted co-ordinates.

During the training walk you will discover ghostly images from the past and will need to record a significant number relating to each one. A lot of these ghosts have been in commerce and they have left traces of their activity on some of the buildings they inhabited. Most modern folk walk past these traces everyday without giving them a second look and may not even be aware of them at all. With Ghostbuster training you will see these traces quite plainly when your eyes are fully opened. All ghosts have a favourite number which they mark somehow on the places they haunt. In most cases, ghosts leave a number mark on the door of the building. You will encounter evidence of seven ghosts and their numbers which you should label A-G

The first ghost may be detected at the parking latitude but further to the west.
This ghost was better at its letters than its numerals and preferred to write things out. But wait a previous ghostbuster has removed all letters and numbers so you will have to look nearby to determine what number used to be on the door

Now you can walk on to the site of the second ghost, providing you have noted its location.
This ghost wanted its mark to be seen in a good light. Again the vandals have been out and placed a confusing wrong sticker over this ghosts number to confuse you. Look both higher and lower on the hill and you will be able to deduce the correct number

The walk to the next ghost is easy but you will have to look much harder to find it

The fourth and fifth ghost are seen regularly but their location is not precisely known. They have always been seen by careful observers when they have been walking between ghost 3 and ghost 6. there are some captured images of them but you will have to look all around you as you walk towards (but not beyond) the sixth ghost.
. . .

the sixth of our ghosts is often seen quite clearly by many untrained people but its exact location is quite difficult to discover. You may recall its whereabouts and be able to view it without fully completing your research. If you are really confident about finding it you may go out into the field to observe it, otherwise you would be well advised to complete your image research whilst you have all possible available resources in ghostbuster HQ.

Before setting off into the field you should identify the exact whereabouts of the seventh shy and very elusive ghost, you are very unlikely to find this one if you have not been paying full attention. Some locals report that this ghost left marks on the wall but those marks refer to another location. I have it on good authority from researchers that the mark was left in the usual place on the property door

Well trainee ghostbuster, if you have all your vantage points worked out it is time to get the infra red camera and any other useful equipment you have available and go out and find the 7 ghost locations and the numbers the ghosts marked their haunts with. These ghosts were known to have worked as a team and left a physical ghostly relic for anyone able to become familiar with their secretive ways. They were know to try and camouflage their favourite places to keep them private.Maybe you can spot it , using standard algebraic maths, at
N51 23POINT((B.D)+(F+E)A(F-G))
W002 20POINT((B+G-2F/E)+C(D+G)(A+B+C))
