This is one of a series of roadside caches placed along the N6 section 2 between Stutterheim and Cathcart. The caches have all been placed at spots where it is possible to pull well off the road. Please be aware that this is a National Road with fast moving and heavy traffic so keep aware of the risks when retrieving these caches and take special care of children.
Sadly Fort Cunynghame is long gone. This is a great spot to stop and enjoy the view. An utterly trivial bit of information is that the railway line linking East London with Johannesburg is almost directly beneath you. The cache is cunninghamly hidden (sorry, we could not resist) so finding it could be a challenge. Please do not remove the cache from its position once you find it. The bottom unscrews and can be removed. Please use stealth, especially if any other vehicles are parked nearby.
