This is one of a series of roadside caches placed along the N6 - Section 2 between Stutterheim and Cathcart. The caches have all been placed at spots where it is possible to pull well off the road. Please be aware that this is a National Road with fast moving and heavy traffic so keep aware of the risks when retrieving these caches and take special care of children.
Remnants of construction such as this left over from the road building process would not be allowed by SANRAL these days. The protection of the environment is taken seriously. When next you travel on a recently completed section of national road you will not see any signs of the construction camps, borrow pits or quarries used during the construction.
