Geocache Description:

This hide commemorates a journey that I am preparing to take in March. After retiring from the US Army, I will hike the Appalachian Trail from South to North, grabbing as many geocaches as I can along the way.

The cache is not a difficult hide and should prove to be child-friendly and should be a good find during the winter. The container is the same color as most of my hiking gear. This color keeps gear from getting lost or forgotten; hopefully it provides the same benefit for this geocache. The Appalachian Trail is rich in history and wonder. In many ways, the Trail represents the experience that many of us seek as we geocache, searching for some new and amazing experience in each find. I will blog my journey of self discovery and geocaching at anyonecanhike.com for anyone interested in living vicariously through my experience.
