Rt 66 IL Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Major_Boothroyd: Well it looks like all the items from the Rt. 66 museum were sold and it is officially closed. It was a neat place while it was there. So it is time to archive my cache. Thanks to all who have found it.

Geocache Description:

By request...A unique and fun Q style cache in the Springfield, area.  If you like to find more of these...be sure to visit the Decatur, IL area where you can find over 50 unique series and gadget caches for the family to enjoy.

This cache is located on private property with permission from the business.  You are looking for an ammo box in the bushes.  There is a lock on the Ammo Box to deter any possible muggles. The questions to unlock the box are below and the answers can be found across the street at the old Rt. 66 museum...

Question 1: looking at the signs....you are to be aware of what animal....the number of letters of the animal is the number of the first combination.

Question 2: Find the red, 8 sided sign that has a 4 letter english word and a german word on it that means, warning, alert or attention.... the number of letters in the german word is the number for the second combination.

Question 3: The number of letters in the owners last name that is also the name of the business is the number for the third combination.

Question 4: This one, you will have to look around, but if you meet the mailman, maybe he could help you answer this question....On what day of the week can you get fresh eggs and cream? The number of letters in the day of the week, is the number for the 4th and last part of the combination.

This used to be a very cool Rt. 66 museum...but since the passing of the owner, more and more items have been sold off....Hopefully there will still be something for you to see during your visit.  Enjoy your find and I hope it makes it to your Favorite list.

As a final note...I did rate this as a ADA wheelchair accessible cache. There is easy parking...and the bushes are on a raised platform and would be chest level for a cacher in a wheelchair.
