Geocache Description:

Native Hawaiians used endemic, canoe, and indigenous plants to sustain their lives for centuries. Many uses came from each plant from medicinal, food, weapons, shelter, clothing, ect ... this cache will help you get to the root of Hawaiian Culture.


The ethnobotanical garden you will find this cache is a representation of a Hawaiian garden from the 1600s. There are 12 acres of upland garden which ancient Hawaiians would have cultivated and used the plants and trees to make tools, clothes, medicine, arts, household, cooking, and fishing items and much more. There is an admission for adults, but children under 12 are free. There are also numerous festivals held here throughout the year that are open to everyone free.
