Geocache Description:

This is the 6th of a series being added along the popular Severn Way footpath.  The name of the cache is historical. The Worcestershire Countryside Service replaced the two stiles in 2016 and replaced them with one very nice robust gate, making walking the Severn Way easier for everyone!

This is a quiet rural section of the Severn Way inside the Parish of Hallow and just between woodland and open pasture.

You'll have to make an effort to reach this cache since the nearest road is an 800 metre walk away on public footpaths.
Walking North along the Severn Way takes you past Hallow Village, where good pubs are to be found, walking South takes you towards Worcester.

Here's another simple cache to break your journey!

If you are lucky and quiet you might see kingfishers. We have seen grass snakes swimming in the river here in summer. Some have even seen otters nearby, and in November 2012 a Common Seal!

You may also see rowers, canoeists and pleasure craft coming from Worcester.

Take care if the Severn is in flood - you might not even be able to approach it if that's the case.
The cache is now(from 13 April 2020)a box in a camo bag. It's on the non-river side of the path. This replaces caches that have floated away in floods in 2014 and then in 2020!
