Ship's Bells Mystery Cache

In days of old, ship's had bells that would be rung to tell everyone the time. They would be rung on the hour and half hour up to 8 rings in a 3 1/2   hour period then they would start over from 1 ring at the beginning of the new cycle.For example 8 bells are rung at midnight and 1 bell at 1230am starting the cycle over again.

This cache should be sought by starting at the parking coordinates and no where else due to the lack of proper parking. It is a short walk on a wide path and readily accessible except in deep snow in the winter. DO NOT park near the US Coast Guard gate!  The security cameras will bring wrath upon you.When you do park at the parking lot, there will be a sign at the trailhead that says keep out. This means for vehicles. It is okay to walk the road but be careful as it is used by the Park Rangers, Border Patrol and other authorized users.

In the summer be careful of ticks and take proper precautions.
