It's time to take care of one of the playgrounds in which you hunt. This event will NOT be about the "Cache In" but all about the "Trash Out"!!
Come an join the Local Geocaching community in doing a trash sweep of the RCGDS Mile. (This is the mile of the parkway adopted by the members of the RCGDS) We need to get in a total of 20 hours of work maintaining this mile stretch of the parkway per quarter and what better way to do this than by having an organized event! Afterwards, or during, there are many great caches to be found along the RCGDS Mile! The RCGDS Mile has varied terrain. During the event you can choose your preferred areas of cleaning but be prepared. There are flat areas, creek beds, rock piles and very steep embankments not to mention the river bank. By participating in this event you will receive a parking pass for the park to use during the event. The American River Parkway Foundation will provide the trash bags and final trash removal. All we need to do is collect the junk and get it to the parking lot

Date: December 15, 2013 Time: 10 AM to 12 or whenever we are done.
Place: RCGDS Mile. Posted Coordinates are for the parking area.
Things To Think About: There are the usual things to be aware of while along the parkway.
Don't go reaching into places that you can not see!! There are Rattle Snakes along the parkway. Always step on, NOT OVER, downed trees and rocks so that you can see what is on the other side.
Keep an eye out to Poison Oak. There are only two types of people in the world. Those who have had Poison Oak and those who will get it.
Protect yourself from the sun. Sunscreen and a good hat with a brim are always a great idea
