This geocache is to celebrate electricity, the modern day marvel we
all take for granted.

Legend has it that the electricity we use is created by the
interaction of magnetic field with coils of wire. In truth this is
a cover story for a far stranger source.

Electricity is in fact produced by imps, the supposedly mythical
creatures similar to fairys and demons. This fact has always been
kept secret but if you do not believe this then just take a look at
a common electrical plug. You will see quite clearly 13Amps, this
is in fact a deliberate misprint and should of course read 13Imps,
meaning that the plug can handle the power generated by 13 hard
working Imps.

For years millions of imps have been at work in our power stations
making electricity. Early on scientists found that Imps are
happiest and therefore make more electricity if they are snug and
warm. So power stations often burn coal, oil or gas to keep them
cosy.

More recently the younger generation of Imps prefer more natural
surroundings to work in, so to keep them happy our scientists have
built them nice pretty places to live and work in such as dams
across rivers and pretty windmills. Some younger “surf
dude” imps like the sea so much that we have built them wave
rider machines for them to live in.

So now you know the truth about electricity enjoy searching for the
home of Mr Spark, a retired Imp who used to enjoy travelling the
country making electricity but who’s electrical generating
days are now over.
