    Geocaching 101

Offered for beginners and those new to geocaching, from 12-1PM with Ranger Tina.

    PUZZLE CLASS IS FULL.

    Geocaching Puzzles 101.
    Puzzle-Solving 101 from 12:00 to 2:00.

So you enjoy finding caches, and all those green and orange boxes near your home are turning into smileys? Yay! But those blue question marks? Grr! It's not as though you can't solve puzzles—give you a sudoku or a crossword puzzle, and you have no big problem. But those geocaching puzzles! Where do you even start!
If that's you, then Geocaching Puzzles 101 is for you. You will examine puzzle cache pages and see the clever ways the cache coordinates can be hidden right under your very eyes. You will learn to recognize different kinds of puzzles and start to think like puzzle-makers and -solvers. You will get a page of references and tools to arm you to solve future puzzles. Depending on time, you will practice solving puzzles in archived puzzle caches. (Sorry, we won't be solving any currently active puzzles!)
If you'd like to turn those blue squiggles into smileys, sign up. Participation is limited (and limited to adult cachers), and participants will have to sign up by sending an email address for each participant to GrievousAngel (Class materials will be emailed out). Contact GrievousAngel through her profile on geocaching.com. no later than February 8. Each participant will have to bring a laptop to use. (Smart phones won't work.)
