This is the only Fortunate Village in Cornwall. What is a Fortunate Village - it is a village where no serviceman was killed in either the first or second World Wars. There is a War Memorial but it only recognises that the men served in the armed forces.
Once a year there is a motorcycle ride to this village and the other 51 villages known as Fortunate Villages.
