This special cache is to recognize HornetPinata reaching 1000 caches. Local cachers have used Verona Beach State Park as a location for this honor in the past and there are two similar caches in the immediate area.
We first met HornetPinata more than two years ago. We had put out a new cache along the Links Trail near Perryville and no one had claimed it on the first day. We decided to check on the cache to see if there had been any activity and low and behold there was a car in the parking area. As we quietly walked down the path we could hear something or someone moving in the bushes at GZ. Sure enough, there was Eric standing in bushes about chest high on the side of the trail trying to look innocent of any inappropriate activity. The moment was made more comical because he was dressed in business casual clothing which was totally wrong for the bushes he was found in. He did admit how relieved he was when he saw a GPS in my wife's hand. We have crossed paths several times since then and we enjoy his caching adventures and tenacity. There is a cache nearby that he has visited at least 3 times without success but he won't throw in the towel. Congratulations Eric on reaching the 1000 level and crossing over from 3 to 4 digits.
This is not an ammo can but contains associated items. The cache is camoed for the holidays and you may be inspired to visit a barber shop. A much needed gift awaits Eric.
