Geocache Description:

At 10 years old I was sure of three things - a boy named Casper, a fire demon named Calcifer and a four foot tall Blackbird named Matthew.

Calcifer and Matthew's stories are for another time.

This is Casper's story...

Casper arrived home to find Johnny crouched over a parcel wrapped in brown paper.
'What's that?', asked Casper as he kicked off his school shoes and leapt onto the top bunk, swinging his legs he peered down at Johnny and the box.
'Don't know. The Ogre gave it to me as I walked past his study'. Johnny ripped off the paper to reveal a 375 experiment Chemistry Set. Casper yawned as Johnny oohed and ahhed and discovered it had two layers of chemicals...just like chocolates!

Over dinner Casper and Johnny discovered their step brothers Malcolm and Douglas had also been given a chemistry set by the Orge and a challenge was set - who could create the most awful smell! Casper was almost excited!

Johnny began haphazardly mixing chemicals a spatula of this, a smidge of that. All the while Casper scribbled busily in his notebook. Suddenly the most awful stench drifted under the door. What had Malcolm and Douglas created?

Casper leapt from his bunk determined to create an even fouler smell.

As he reached the ground disaster occurred. The contents of one of the three test tubes in the test tube rack splashed onto their younger sister Gwinny's leg.

'Youch!', yelped Gwinny as the icey cold liquid splattered onto her leg...followed by 'Ooooh!' as she appeared to be floating millimetres above the carpet.

Casper and Johnny watched as she hovered now five centimetres above their floor, then one metre. Up, up she went, till she was gently bobbing just below the ceiling. They looked at each other. And then at the almost empty test tube, the last drop just falling to the floor.

What had they made?

A flying mixture?

Casper looked at his notes and then up to Gwinny quietly wooshing back and forth from the window to the door...

They needed to make more...

Due to the inability of my 10 year old self to appreciate some of the finer points of chemistry...
