Mt. Hiei has two peaks. The first prize triangulation point is at the peak of the east called Ohie大比叡.
You can arrive there if you climb the slope at the east end of the parking lot for five minutes.
Because there is surrounded with a high tree, there is no view. However, you will get small satisfaction.
信仰の山として有名な比叡山は２つのピークで構成される双耳峰です。賑やかなのはロープウェイのある西側の四明岳ですが、東側の大比叡にひっそりと一等三角点があります。そこへは山頂駐車場の東端にある坂を5分ほど登れば到着します。現在のところ、三角点周辺は高い木で囲まれているため、残念ながら眺望はありません。眺望のない三角点に存在意義があるのかという問題はさておき、もう少しだけ登ってささやかな満足を得ましょう！
