Portera: This cache has been archived courtesy of Ingredion Incorporated. I was in the area and stopped by to see if I could spot a train, and saw the new "No Trespassing" signs. I decided to take my chances and went in and retrieved the container. Though this spot is very interesting and I loved showing it to people but I don't want people to get hassled.

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache near the site of the old Cardinal Railway Station.

At the parking location for this cache, you will find a plaque honouring the people that used to work at the Cardinal Train Station. The cache is located at an artifact of that time that has obviously been in that spot for many years. I am not 100% sure what it is, but I believe that it it a coal stoker from a tender of a steam engine. Anyone who has better information than that should post a note with their log enlightening everyone.

The amazing thing about the picture on the cache page is that the house in the background is still there and is still being lived in.

The cache container is another artifact from days gone by.
