A quick fun cache just behind the grounds of the castle in the picturesque Shropshire village of Whittington. Digest the history of the castle, feed the ducks, take a stroll in the country, enjoy the romantic rural ambiance.... but don't forget to find the cache
The site of the castle was first fortified in 1138 and descended in the FitzWarin family being inhabited until around 1545. The castle remains have been recently restored and is owned and managed by the local community. The castle most notable residents in recent years were Bill and Betty the moat's mute swans, sadly Bill died in November 2013 and Betty moved on to pastures new with that years cygnets. The village awaits to see if a new pair will take up residence.
