Geocache Description:

We're teaming up with the Pennsylvania DCNR, Friends of Poquessing Watershed Association, the Northeast Philadelphia Radio Control Club and the Benjamin Rush Gardens Assn, to clean up the newly renovated Benjamin Rush State Park. With the creation of a number of new trails, the park is much more presentable than in past years, since much trash has been removed during construction. There is a considerable amount of trash remaining in the wooded areas as well as the creek bed.

DCNR will supply much of the necessary clean up materials. Initial plans are to meet at the posted coordinates, which are for the visitor parking area. There are a few other parking areas along the park loop road which we may use if the main lot fills. We will be meeting at 9:00AM and expect to work (play?) till 2:00PM.

Update: DCNR Park Rangers will be manning the registration tent as well as coordinating which groups will be assigned which areas. We, Geocachers, will be responsible for the southeast section of the park, from Southampton Road and the Roosevelt Blvd., including the remains of the Old Lincoln Highway, which runs through the park parallel to the boulevard. All attendees must register at DCNRs table at the listed parking coordinates. We will have our log book at the Visitors Parking Lot. We'll also be giving out door prizes at that location around noon. Rangers will be grilling hot dogs and serving snacks and beverages from their tent also.
