Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are NOT the cache location. They are for parking.

One stage and the final, down and just off an old, abandoned, paved road. Solve the puzzle image below to find the 1st stage, which holds the coordinates for the final.

This old, abandoned, paved road dead-ends where the old 1-lane bridge washed out, probably in The Flood of 1985.

Of possibly more significance to me personally, a while before this cache was hidden, there was a brief intersection in time and space (queue Twilight Zone music), of a deer running into the non-abandoned road, from the abandoned road, and my car, now known as "deer killer," which was crusing down the hill at a good clip. That poor deer flew something like 10-20 feet up in the air, and landed (quite deceased) on the opposite shoulder of the road. Soon after that I learned the animal people won't even take such freshly killed animals to be used for donated food. Something about adrenaline in the blood.... The car survived and is still driveable, but it hasn't passed inspection since. But, I digress...

The cache is a medium size, lock 'n lock, Tupperware type plastic container. The first stage is a medium pill-bottle size camo'd plastic container. Both are just off the paved road, maybe 10-20 feet, depending how you go. Watch out for old bottles and glass in the vicinity, and watch your step, as always.

Legend has it deer continue to attack cars and people in this area. Up close, they're bigger and stronger than they look from the distance. There are stories of people disappearing. So, like I said, watch your step, and your back, around here.

You do not have to go far from the road. There are steep drop-offs if you go too far in some places. You also don't have to go close to the creek.

The difficulty will be a little higher due to more over-growth during spring-summer.

Be sure to enjoy the view of Ivy creek at the end of the road.

Parking Note: Don't block the private driveway, and stay to the side of the no-parking spot. There's only room for a couple cars.

Please re-hide the containers as found.
