Geocache Description:

January 10th, 2014 marks 10 years since the placement of the very first EarthCache, on a headland 3 hrs south of Sydney, Australia by Geoaware and his two daughters.

10 Years of EarthCaching 10 years later, there are 17,558 EarthCaches placed around the world helping geocachers better understand the planet and the processes that form and shape it.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of EarthCaching, we are putting on an event to learn, share, and celebrate together as only geocachers can do. Experienced earthcachers: bring your stories of your favorite earthcaches to share.

No earthcache finds yet? Bring your enthusiasm, your GPSrs, and something to write down the answers you'll need for logging the earthcaches. We'll talk about earthcaching in general and try to answer any questions you may have.

Afterwards, we'll head out to visit nearby earthcaches to get you started.
