Kanda River #06 (Hachiman Shrine) Traditional Cache

Hachiman Shrine is a popular name for shrines. This Hachiman Shrine is along the banks of the Kanda River. In Japanese mythology Hachiman is a syncretic god of archery. Syncretism indicates a mixing of two religions. In Japan this means the mixing of Buddhism with Shinto. In Buddhism there are many buddhas and in Shinto there are many kami (gods). In Japan many of these buddhas and gods have been mixed together. Hachiman is one such figure.

The cache is hidden along the cycling and walking trail that follows the Kanda River. BYOP. There is no pen in the cache. Beware of small children playing in the area during warm weather.

八幡神社は、神社に人気の名前です。この八幡神社は、神田川の土手に沿っている。日本の神話に八幡はアーチェリーの融合した神である。神仏習合は2宗教の混合を示している。日本ではこれが神道と仏教の混合を意味します。仏教では、たくさん仏像がありますし、神道にたくさん神が存在する。日本ではその仏像と神々が混じっている場合は着くなくありません。八幡はその一つです。
