Geocache Description:

Cardrona has a variety of woodland walking options with lovely views up the Tweed Valley towards Glentress forest. This is the ideal corner of Tweed Valley Forest Park for peaceful walking, gentle cross-country riding and hacking through miles of woodland trails.

Look out for red squirrels and a wealth of birdlife. For history/wildlife buffs, the derelict Cardrona Tower, built in the 1500s, is now a des res for bats. Don’t miss the site of the Iron Age fort at Castle Knowe – the walls are more recent, but they are built on top of a layout some 2,000 years old.
