This is the Outer Banks Arboretum and teaching garden. Most of you have probably already been to the cache Laundry Time in the butterfly garden I wanted to expand your hunt to the rest of the trail there are plenty of resting areas for you to sit and enjoy this wonderful place. Please practice CITO . The purpose of the Outer Banks Arboretum and Teaching Garden is to create an outdoor classroom that will provide horticultural education highlighting the coastal ecosystem and enhancement of the properties. The goals are to test and display labeled plantings and planting practices that are suitable for our coastal climate, and to provide a garden for the viewing pleasure of all citizens and visitors of Dare County during daylight hours. Open 365 days a year rain or shine. Self-guided tour brochures are located at the arboretum. Come, visit our garden! After you tour the garden find the fitness trail and go grab your self a smiley!!
