Geocache Description:

River front park in West Columbia on Saturday February 1st at 9:45 am! When logging your "Will Attend" please include if you are part of a team so we will have an idea of how many teams we will have. If you are solo and want to join a team, say so in your "Will Attend" log.

This event is rain or shine! (We're hoping for shine!)

Welcome to Scavenger Hunt Columbia hosted by the
Geocachers of the Midlands.
This hunt will be a combination traditional, digital and team challenge based scavenger hunt!


Some general guidelines:
*Teams must consist of 4 geocachers (This number also includes the driver of the vehicle. Teams are not allowed to have more than 4 people with the exception of kids under 12 years old which will not compete)
*Teams must travel in 1 single vehicle
*At least 1 member of your team must have a phone or digital camera capable of taking photos and videos. It is suggested to have 2.
*All members of a team must stay together. You cannot split up to complete any of the items on the list.

**There are more rules and those will be covered prior to beginning the scavenger hunt.***

Some things you may need to bring:
Change for meters - most are free but I can't be 100% sure
Charger for phone/camera
Pen
GPS
Depending on your phone/camera - spare SD card for storage of videos

How it will work:
9:15-9:45 CITO before the hunt http://coord.info/GC4VFY8
9:45-10:30 am - Arrive, sign in. Give your team name and members. Designate a team leader. (Team leaders will be responsible for receiving and turning in scoring sheets) Any team not signed in by 10:30 will not have their scores counted towards prizes
10:30 am - Go over rules and regulations for scavenger hunt
10:45 am - Distribute sealed scavenger hunt score sheets
10:50 am - Open scavenger hunt score sheets - start 5 min staging
10:55 am - Begin hunt
10:55 am-1:00 pm - Scavenger Hunt (2 hours & 5 mins)
(Special note: Team challenges will end at 12:45 pm!)
1:00-1:10 pm - Turn in hunt score sheets for scoring at Wild Wing Cafe @ 729 Lady Street
1:30-2:30 - Lunch and award winners! (In the Cock Pit at Wild Wing Cafe - everyone will be responsible for their own lunch and you do not have to eat to attend)

Please note that the start times and end times are set! If you do not register your team by 10:30 your score will not count towards prizes. Score sheets will not be accepted after 1:10 pm! All 4 members of your team must be present at registration and to turn in score sheets at Wild Wings Cafe.
Teams should come up with a team name! There will be a special prize for the best team name!

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams and will be as follows:

1st Place - $50 in Wild Wing Certificates & $120 voucher towards a guided river trip courtesy of Get Your Gear On.

2nd Place - $25 in Wild Wing Certificates & $100 voucher towards a guided river trip courtesy of Get Your Gear On.

3rd Place - $25 in Wild Wing Certificates & $80 voucher towards a guided river trip courtesy of Get Your Gear On.

Every team that turns in score sheets will receive 4 raffle tickets for the following prizes to be raffled off at the end of the scavenger hunt:
An ammo can

Un-activated Travel Bug

Weekend Kayak Rental courtesy of River Runners
Stand up paddle board rental for 2 courtesy of Get Your Gear On
Sit on top kayak rental for 2 courtesy of Get Your Gear On
