This cache was placed on the one year anniversary of the death of my beloved Siamese princess, Percephoney. This little girl suffered a sad ailment the vets couldn't identify in time to save her, and just as a mystery 'drug' began to work for her, another wrench came into the mix and ended it all for her, and for us, that fateful day, December 11, 2012, just down this street, in a house we were renting at the time. She was taken from us to the Rainbow Bridge (or Bifrost, as I prefer to call it) far too soon. The holiday season of 2012 was spent urn shopping, rather than watching her enjoy the new bed and treats I had gotten for her.
While I'll never forget that horrible day, and it still brings tears to my eyes to remember the details, she will always be close to my heart, and I remember her memory every day. We will keep hoping that her brother, Khufu, will be able to long outlive his sister's meager 9 years of age, despite him apparently battling the same ailment less than a year later.
We had come to dub her the "mir" cat, because, rather than the meow people are most familiar with cat's making, Percephoney made a sound that sounded like a long, drawn out mir (pronounced 'meer'). We also fondly recall another nickname she earned: Speedbump, for how she used to lay, sprawled out to her fullest length, in the middle of a walkway.
This cache is placed in loving memory of her. "Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge (Bifrost)."
As this cache is placed in memory of a dearly departed, much loved pet, I encourage those that find this cache to log a picture of them with, or of just, their beloved pets, past or present.
