The trails were officially opened in July 2007 and form part of Masterton District Council's recreation trail network. These trails were funded by Eastern and Central Community Trust and Masterton District Council.
This geocache is placed on the Fourth Street - Milford Downs track. The section of track where the cache is placed is on a steep hilly section which connects the lake area to the Milford Downs street. The track is public land inbetween two private properties; so remember to cache responsibly and keep to the fenced off area. This stretch is very steep for a recreational trail, making it a difficult traverse for bikes or mothers with prams.
The Lansdowne Recreational Trail is a network of tracks built along Masterton District Council land. The streams and lakes in the area are used to regulate the stormwater coming off the lansdowne hill before it reaches the Waipoua River. This is important to prevent the Waipoua River from flooding during a period of heavy rain.
This is a small geocache. PLEASE LEAVE CACHE AS FOUND. The cache can be easily be accessed without un-hooking from its position.
