This cache is in a little visited, or at least little cached, part of town. On the way it's a good area to see some very large, older homes.
At the cache in winter, you'll have somewhat of an overlook of the BRC, or Buncher Rail Car, Service, which is down on Hydro Street, and a little ways down river from where the James River is dammed by the Reusens Hydroelectric Plant at the end of Old Trents Ferry Road...
There are at least 3 ways to find the coordinates for this cache. The first two suggested ways involve stopping and finding markers in Scott Cemetery, at given locations. The third is "cheating" or checking your answers, depending...
Please note which method you used, in your log. There will be no judging.
In reverse order... To check answers, or for the easy way to "cheat," see the posted coordinates at: this archived cache listing. You'll also see an example of the old curses caches, which are no longer allowed.
The next way is to find the marker for one of the Scott males, do a little easy math, and make a waypoint projection from the given coordinates. At this marker, take note of the birth and death years of the man's wife, get her approximate age at death, add 308, and call that A, the distance in meters. The man's death year is 1BC1. Use CB for the projection direction (from north): So, project A-meters at CB-degrees... Cherokee Bill (CB) was the original hider of this cache.
The last way is to find 2 prominent markers for non-Scotts, at the given coordinates. One has a short name on a marker with only that name; call D the number of letters in the name. The other has a longer name (and was born in 1832); call E the number of letters in that last name. The final coordinates are:
N 37 27.2[Ex6] W 079 11.1[Dx7]
