Geocache Description:

**** NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES ****

Square dancing is a form of dance involving four couples (eight dancers) with one couple on each side, facing the middle of the square. “Old time” or “traditional” square dance is what most of us think of, and may have learned in school. Learning modern square dancing is easy, and there are several groups dedicated to beginners.

Regional differences in the dances are not huge, and it is fairly easy to go from one to another once you have learned the basics. Each region does have its own nuances, though, so quite often the dance is explained or even “walked through” before the music starts.

Square dance music is an integral part of the dance, and also varies from region to region. Oftentimes, especially in modern Western square dancing, recorded music is used, though traditional square dancing more often uses live music. Larger dances may require the dancers wear traditional attire which consists of gingham or polka-spotted dresses with wide skirts or a wide gingham or patterned skirt in a strong dark color with a white puff-sleeve blouse for the women, and long-sleeved western and western-style shirts, dress slacks, scarf or string ties (bolos) or kerchiefs, metal tips on shirt collars and boot tips, and sometimes cowboy hats and boots for men.

In the dance pictured below, the couples perform as one, and the square seems to always rotate clockwise.  Can you help mi find the square dance?  There might even be a cache there!
