Start of the walk
Cranborne is a charming village of red brick and cob houses on the River Crane. It dates from Saxon times and was recorded in the Doomsday Book of 1086 as Creneburne, meaning stream (bourne) of cranes.
Known as 'Chaseborough' in the novels of Thomas Hardy, the village was also popular with poet Rupert Brooke who stayed at the Fleur de Lys and wrote a poem in its honour. Cranborne Manor dates back to the Middle Ages when King John was a regular visitor during his hunting trips to Cranborne Chase.
This is a short series of 4 caches of various sizes and types of container which I hope you enjoy.
If doing this with part of the CCC round, after finding CCC 94, follow the path past the cheese factory, back towards the Manor. Go through the gate which is at N50.55.257 W001.55.792, and back through the field to CCC 1 then back to Cranborne.
The cache is camo bison hanging on the finger post
