About Watch For Snakes Series

This fun series was started by FLmassage1 in 2007 and then adopted by auyantepuy a couple of years later. It is an 11-mile bike/hike through the Everglades Wildlife Managment Area. The adventure takes you along a rocky levee that connects Sawgrass Expressway to US27.

In 2010, soflfamily jumped at the opportunity to add a mystery cache for this series. Unfortunately, the final was recently archived, but the container is still present, so I received the thumbs-up from soflfamily to adopt the cache so that it may live on and be the perfect capstone to the Watch For Snakes Ultimate Adventure! Instead of doing a standard cache adoption, it was easier to republish.

About Watch For Snakes Final

Until 2022, to determine the coordinates for the final, you had to visit each of the caches in the series and find a number that had been written on the container and/or the log...those numbers provided the coordinates for the final. However, recently, the caches were replaced...without the numbers needed to solve the puzzle!  Soooo...

As of 2/4/2022, this cache is now a Challenge Cache!  In a moment, I'm going to TELL you the coordinates for the final.  You can sign the log whenever you'd like.  However, you cannot log your "Found It" until you've first logged your find for at LEAST 8 of the 10 traditional caches along the "Watch For Snakes" trail (I'd make it all 10, but this allows for one or two DNFs, whether due to missing containers or temporary blindness...who SAYS this isn't the Age of DNF Forgiveness?).  Anyone who logs a "Found It" who has not found at least 8 of the 10 caches in the series will have their logs removed...ya' gotta meet the challenge and traverse this fine trail!

Annnnd the coordinates for the final are......N 26° 13.792' W 80° 17.846'
NOTE: Difficulty/Terrain is for an overall rating.

Big Thanks to the New Years Eve Crew who helped restore this series and thank you to Michaelcycle for fixing the final in November 2024!
