A large ammo can hidden off the trail.
This cache was placed on a early winter hike in the Catskills. There was some snow on the ground at the time it was placed, so it should be snow friendly.
There are some nice views along the way to the summit (either approach) and plenty of elevation change. Good waterproof hiking boots might help, too.
