Christmas Eve 1953 KHGI signed on as KHOL-TV, a CBS and DuMont affiliate based in Holdrege. The station was founded by Bi-States Co., headed by Holdrege doctor F. Wayne Brewster. After KGIN signed on from Grand Island as a satellite of Lincoln's KOLN in 1961, KHOL became full time ABC affiliates. Basically what I'm saying is when NTV started in 1953 it was CBS and in 1961 it became ABC. In June of 1974 the letters of KHOL became KHGI-TV. In the early 1980's it became known as NTV. Thus giving me the name for this cache CBS ABC NTV
