Urupukapuka Island is the largest island in the Bay of Islands. Managed by the Dept of Conservation it has 3 camping sites, lovely beaches, cliffs, wetlands and native bush. There are a number of walks that take in all these while enjoying stunning views.
You can get to the cache from any of the 3 camping sites or via Otehei Bay, where the tourist boats call in. Climb the hill to the top then follow the signs down to Urupukapuka Bay, head along and up the other side. Once at the top follow along the path, find 'Glimpse of Piercy' and 'Just Around the Corner" then continuing along to GZ. You will see Piercy Rock (Motukokako Island) where the famous "Hole in the Rock" is. GZ is very close by.
Once you have found the cache you can return the way you came or continue along the path to the next cache "Tea Room". The walk is worth the views.
