The two dams visible from here are for the irrigation of 340 ha of export Table Grapes. The one on the southern side of the N1 is named Groothoek Dam and the one on the northern side is named Cementation dam. These dams are managed by the Hex Valley Water Users Association whom are responsible for water management in the Hex Valley.
The cache is also en route to Impangeli Mountain Lodge and googling impangelemountainlodge will supply a link to some excellent tourist attractions in the area, including the Hexpass Express Train Trolley trip, a hiking trail and the Two Tunnel Mountain bike trail.
The Veldskoen Padstal is situated next to the Cementation Dam and one can have something to eat and drink here while relaxing a bit.
