Armchair Traveler Mystery Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The above coordinates are NOT where the cache is located. The coordinates lead you to a forest service road which takes you toward the cache location. You must solve the puzzle to get the exact location of the cache.
We have always been fascinated by maps. Many times as a young lad on rainy days, Mr. ptateam would gaze at the maps, follow the roads with his fingers, and in his mind he would dream of where these roads would take him. This is a cache for the "armchair traveler".
First, we would like to go north to the following places...in order:
Georgetown, Iowa
Hazelhurst, Wisconsin
Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.
Second, we would like to go west to the following places...in order:
Hatchel, Texas
Lost Hills, California
Methow, Washington.
In order to commemorate these trips, we decided to place a cache, the coordinates of which can be derived from the above locations! Have fun with your maps! The final location is on US Forest Service Land. The forest service road here has pull-off spots not far from the cache location. Even when the gate is closed, you don't have to walk far to this cache.
This is an area heavily frequented by hunters, so be sure to WEAR ORANGE during the fall and early winter.
As required by the USFS for geocaches hidden in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The geocache is prominently labeled as a geocache and the label includes the GC code and the owner's e-mail address.
Happy Hunting! Better bring your own pencil...the cache is a tupperware container with room for the log book and a few trade items.
