Last Christmas morning (2012) my wife and I were on our way to my mom’s house for our traditional Christmas morning get together. The family gathers from Minnesota and North Dakota; stockings are opened in a large group; we enjoy a big breakfast (often with more bacon than any other time of year) and then we go around in a circle opening presents.
We had presents and our part of the breakfast loaded in the car and were most of the way to mom’s when I took a turn my wife did not expect and she asked “Where are we going?” and I responded with “There is a new cache over this way.” My wife was not surprised, we did make the FTF and we were not the last ones to get to the house.
Awhile later I found out that the folks who missed the FTF they were trying for started calling me the Grinch, because we took their FTF present. We don’t regret that FTF for a second, think the name is a lot of fun and will go after another Christmas morning FTF it given a chance; but to add to the joy of Christmas the Grinch has placed this Christmas cache for others to find.
