Coach 1: The program went from one of college footballs most successful programs to one of the worst in one season. After a season with the worst record in the school's history, he tendered his resignation. He stayed on at Texas, first in the P.E. department and later as asst. dean of students.
Coach 2: After nine winning seasons, nine bowl games, 2 SWC titles, and 1 Heisman trophy winner; his tenure ended at the University of Texas with an 86–31–2 record, 3rd best in UT's history. After notching Texas' first losing record in 30 years, he left to become the head football coach at Purdue University.
F = Coach 1 - Coach 2
