As with the others in the series, the cache is not on the artwork. Start at N52° 02.770' W000° 44.797' This will take you to the former location of a fountain but now the site of the MK Rose.
According to the Parks Trust website (link) , “Developed in partnership by The Parks Trust and the Cenotaph Trust, with support from Milton Keynes Council, the Milton Keynes Rose was created as a central civic space to host events significance and occasions of remembrance.
Created by internationally renowned artist Gordon Young in 2014, the Milton Keynes Rose is an open-air circle with markings based on the mathematical beauty of a flower. Upon installation 106 granite pillars of varying height were mounted in positions to create the art piece. 68 pillars have been engraved with dedications, leaving 38 for future inscriptions. “
There are a number of events held at the Rose - check these out (link) so you can see what's happening.
You will need to look at the inscriptions on a number of pillars and note down some numbers.
Q1 – Find the pillar which mentions a date on which someone ate a fish! Note down the year – this will give you 1ABC
Q2 – Now find a pillar which refers to a Shooting Party. Note the year – 1DEB
Q3 – Something happened in this year in Osborne Street – 1DFE
Q4 – A New Bradwell resident who was born in June 1899, but when was he killed? 1F/0G/1D1G
Now some sums! You will need a calculator for this!
Y = ((B*F) + (C-E)) * (D+A) (a three digit number)
And
H = (G*E) + F
J = H * B
Z = (J + D) * C (This is also a 3 digit result)
The final location is at N 52 02.Y’ W 0 44.Z’
The final co-ordinates will get you to an area where tree cover makes GPS a bit unreliable. Check the hint if you are unsure. Please replace the container in the place you found it.
