Geocache Description:

This cache is located off Hwy 244 near Mt. Rushmore. It's located off FS Road 356. It is a short walk to the cache from where you can park. If you choose to walk to the cache from the cattle guard it's .40 miles gauged from our car.

The dakotahillbillies have been caching over 8 years now. They've cached in temperatures of -20 with the wind chill for a park and grab. They have also been out in temperatures around 100 to either to hide or find a cache. They are crazy! The caches Mama Hillbilly likes to find the best are those that get her out hiking with friends and family. There is nothing like fresh air that smells like pine! The nice breezes are welcomed on a hot day!

Mama Hillbilly turns 50 on December 20, 2013. She realizes that snow and temperatures have always been an issue with this month for geocaching. A friend made her a cache to hide for her birthday. Mama Hillbilly loves rocks and cool rock formations. When she brings home rocks she gets to see Papa Hillbilly roll his eyes at her. He will also wonder why it took 5 hours to find only 2 caches! It's never been about the numbers but the journeys to find them!

She's seen many places and things she never would have without geocaching. She has walked on ice on Pactola Lake, rappelled, climbed a tree or two, crawled through a small space and even gotten lost at night! She also has made some lifetime friendships that make her very happy! Mama Hillbilly was very excited as Papa Hillbilly helped her hide the cache! She couldn't have asked for a better day!
