A father is someone you look up to no matter how tall you grow… And the best fathers get promoted to grandfathers.
This series “I Look Up To You” is dedicated to our Dad & Pop-Pop! He has always served as a role model to all of us and now to our children. Our memories with him have inspired the placements of each cache! We hope you enjoy this series as much as we have enjoyed hiding these caches in honor of WoodenNickel4U!
*In the log book of each of these caches, you will find the hint for the Bonus- Mystery Cache #6! Note that We Look Up To You #2 has been disabled and the hint needed for the bonus cache is "N XXX 22.883 W XXX XX.XXX". You will still need to obtain the hints in the log books of #1, #3, #4, and #5 in order to find the bonus cache.
WoodenNickel4U has led many family hikes, along with the Boy & Girl Scouts, on the 1777 trail. This trail takes you through historic Doodletown, Bear Mountain, including Fort Clinton, and Fort Montgomery. The millstone at the cache location is from an old mill that was used at the site of Fort Clinton in the late 1700’s after the war. Fort Clinton can now be visited by going to the Bear Mountain Trailside Museum and Zoo.
This cache site has also been visited by WoodenNickel4U to bring his granddaughter Isabella fishing, we hope in the future he can also bring his younger granddaughter Addison along with them on their fishing trips! Pop-Pop’s granddaughters not only physically “look up to him,” but love and adore him in a way only granddaughters can!
You may park along the road on the side of the pond.
