The Route 153 is a national road that arrives from Nagoya City to the Takaide intersection in Nagano Prefecture Shiojiri City.
At the starting point in Nagoya, it parts from the Route 19, and meets again here.
The Route 153 was a highway for carrying the salt made from Mikawa (East part of Aichi Prefecture) to Shinano (Nagano Prefecture) and Kai (Yamanashi Prefecture) which cannot take salt.
The product of a soybean etc. was carried from Shinano.
Since the people of Shinano were the highways which can go to Mikawa, they were calling it "Sanshu(=Mikawa) Kaido (Highway)".
Since it was carrying using the land carriage system named "Chuma", the name of the "Chuma Kaido (Highway)" or "Sio(salt) Kaido (Highway)" was also attached.
Cache was installed in the place in which the terminal point of the Route 153 is in sight.
