Geocache Description:

One of six caches placed near a walkway/track which runs alongside the Enler River in Comber.

History

The Enler (or Inler) river originates in the Holywood and Castlereagh Hills.  From there, it flows through Dundonald and onto Comber, before finally entering Strangford Lough at Island Hill on the Comber Estuary.

The river is famed for producing beautiful, hard-fighting sea and brown trout and is best described as a brook-style water, with its width never really exceeding a fisherman’s easy cast.

Compared to River Walks you might do elsewhere, it’s fair to say that this one isn’t the prettiest but it’s often overlooked and these caches will hopefully offer you the opportunity to discover parts of Comber you’ve never been to before.

Ground Zero

As the cache description suggests, this cache is located just beyond a ‘Wee Weir’ at the Enler River.   The cache has been placed in line with the ‘Leave No Trace’ principles and should be a relatively easy find.

The Cache

The cache is a 1.5ml nano containing only a log so do please bring a pen
