Hong Kong in Sydney Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The 13th Spectrum: After some thought, it's been decided that the most appropriate action is to archive it. Whilst it was intended for there to be a minor muggle problem, I myself felt a little too suspicious searching around for it when it went missing. Apologies to anyone who was planning on finding it, but thank you to those who have searched for and/or found it. Hopefully will substitute with a different cache but nearby in the future. Thanks!

Geocache Description:

Welcome to one of Sydney's most multicultural towns, Eastwood!

Having recently returned from a holiday in Hong Kong which, of course, involved geocaching, it's evident how wonderful and passionate the geocaching community is.  This geocache has been inspired by (and somewhat reflects!) Hong Kong and its array of geocaches!

Eastwood was renowned for its large population of migrants from Hong Kong during the 1990s, as the town evolved into a "Little Hong Kong", full of restaurants and grocers.  Nowadays, however, people of many cultures reside in and visit the town most well-known for being the first place the Granny Smith apple was grown, with people coming together annually in the Granny Smith Festival during mid-October to celebrate our nation's wonderful cultural diversity.

This geocache resembles those from Hong Kong in a few ways:
i) The muggles don't stop!  Stealth required, definitely
ii) The nearby buildings (well, the one tall building) wreaks havoc with GPS signal
iii) The method of hiding is a very popular one
iv) A familiar container! :)

The coordinates have been averaged from several readings on 2m accuracy, so they should be alright.  Please let me know if otherwise.  It should be a quick park and grab, but walking around town is definitely recommended!

The cache is in Eastwood Plaza, just outside the Centre - there is a supermarket, a fruit shop, a few specialty and variety shops, takeaway shops and restaurants, as well as free parking (see P2). Parking also available at the main carpark, waypoint P1.

There is a little prize for the FTF; you can't miss it!  Happy caching!
