This monastry dates from the 11th century but is abandoned now. It is situated on a very high place into an opening in the rock wall. You can enter the monastry, look at the cells where the monks slept and climb the chairs to the church on the top. The view is splendid, you can see the sea as well as the vast plains.
There are 2 ways to reach the Moni. The most spectacular one is the way from Iria to the mountains. Just after the village Karnazaika go right on a dirtroad. Better not do this after rainfall. The road is bad so better for a 4x4. The other way starts in the village Pelei. It is also a dirtroad but wider and in better condition. The cache is a plastic hardbox containing a log and the geo letter, but no pen.
