Geocache Description:


This cache is part of the Sinkawa senbonzakura Series. I was set up to near Shinkawaguchi- Brige cache. It is a micro size cache. Please bring your own pen.

1590, Tokugawa Ieyasu entered the Edo Castle is ordered to canal excavation of salt until Gyotoku in Chiba Prefecture, Shinkawa, digging at the same time as Dosan moat-Onagi River. Since then, as well as being used for a lot of people waterway carrying supplies various Edo City during the "road salt" that carries the salt such as restaurants and shops selling soy sauce and miso lined Shinkawa it was bustling.

新川は、天正18年(1590年)、江戸城に入った徳川家康が千葉県の行徳までの塩の船路開削を命じ、道三堀・小名木川と同時に開削。以来、新川は江戸市中に様々な物資を運ぶ水路、行徳の塩を運ぶ「塩の道」として多くの人に利用されるとともに、沿川には味噌や醤油を売る店や料理店などが立ち並び賑わいを見せていました。
