Geocache Description:

Knockanore lies on a scenie route adjacent to the Rivers Blackwater and Bride, and is equidistant from Youghal, Tallow, Lismore and Cappoquin.

The name derives from the Gaelic - Cnoc an Oir, or Hill of Gold. The gold refers not to the mineral, but rather the colour of the once plentiful furze bush.

This is serious agricultural country, well known for dairying and horse-breeding. Local farmers are noted for their industry, with cheese and ice-cream manufactured in the area.

The cache is located in the heart of the hamlet.
